My guy Jarrod (Tone Wars) was not feeling this one and made me a nice “bro deal” on it. $1200 shipped. Has a crack in the front plexiglass but other than that all good.

H&K sells replacements but I’m really not that concerned with it. Anywho…

It’s got the standard 6L6/EL34 combo. I’ll likely sub one pair of 6L6 for KT88’s.

Nice man! I actually really like the Triamp. I know tone wars guy doesn't like it, but I don't use anywhere near as much gain as he does.

I really like the orange channel on all three revisions.

Yeah I’m not as heavy handed with the gain as he is either. Oddly I liked the tones he got in his last vid on this but he just wasn’t digging it.

We talk quite a bit and he was like, “man if you want it I’ll give you a killer deal”.

Had to do it.

I had one of those a couple of years back. Honestly it is not a bad amp at all. I liked the 5th and 6th channels for the heavy. I did find it a bit hifi sounding but some folks really like that. Lots of amazing options to sculpt things.

Either way, for that price, how could you turn your back on it.

I hear the Hi-Fi thing a lot about Diezel. I have the DuoTone and like that quite a bit so assume I’ll gone with this guy.

And yeah, that’s a lot of amp for what I paid.

Wow, you are on a roll !! Always wanted to try one of these,,,
Yeah man for real! lol. This is it for a minute though, unless the guy accepts my offer on the Wizard clone…

Enough knobs for ya? 😆
That’s what she/he/they said?

I like H&K in general. When used right, people can get some good tones out of them. At the same time though, they're not really amps for me. Their hi-fi quality sits in a weird place. It's not the same Diezel or ENGL type hi-fi where you get a smooth compression with a good feel. H&K to me is more like a high quality solid state amp or hi-fi audio equipment trying to transition into a tube amp. You get a pristine audio signal that works really well for clean tones. It's also good for high gain as long as you can control the fizz. There's also not much on dynamics, so they feel stiff and doesn't do medium gain or riding breakup overly well.

With that hi-fi quality in the right hands and the right style of music they're good sounding amps. But that can also be to their detriment if it's not your style or you're not used to how they sound/play.

Anyway, congrats on the NAD. Hope it works well for you.
FYI on the Triamps. Even though the MK2 has shared EQ's, a lot of people say it's the one to get for best tone and feel. If you overall like the MK3 but isn't quite 100% doing it for you, maybe give the MK2 a shot.
