I was moving my amp around at a gig last night, and found that the power cable was a little too short.

I could use an extension cord, but I would rather keep it to one cable.

Is that just a regular power cable that I can get any where, or is there something special I should know?

Thanks!

If I get something, I don't want it to blow the amp up. What is "AWG?"

Thanks!

American Wire Gauge
I'd go with a 14 awg. The smaller the number the larger the conductors. Beefy is good!

Yeah, go 14AWG. Especially if you're getting a longer length. I'm sure 18 would work fine, but why not get the beefy one.

That's what I did. I knew I'd get help here- Thanks!

;) :D  :scared:

I was just looking at the power cable for the Tourmaster, and it actually says 18 AWG on it. What does this number mean? Does it make any difference if I get 14 AWG? Obviously I don't want to do anything to harm the amp.

Thanks!

18AWG is thinner than 14AWG. So you only really *need* 18, but hey, 14 will probably just last longer and be sturdier.

John Ewing from Egnater just sent me an e-mail basically saying that. I ordered a 15 foot cable. Would the thickness have anything to do with length?

Thanks!
