so i've been experiencing random problems with my mod50 for a while now, where the sound of static and crackling would come through while I was playing.

it wasn't too bad for playing live (because odds are, you'd be playing and wouldn't hear it..) but now i'm tracking constantly with the mod50, I needed to fix the problem.

after a couple emails back and forth with bruce checking the grounding, he pinpointed the fx loop tube as the issue. a nice little $12 fix, and my mod50 is quiet as can be.

I recently put a nice NOS GE 12AT7 in my effects loop tube socket, and I swear it sounds better, but I'm probably listening with my eyes and wallet...
 
ya bad fx loop tube, bruce said that the type of tube doesn't matter a while lot for tone.
