Hello!

I was curious if anyone is able to mod a pedal or create a new pedal for a Bogner Shiva 20th Anniversary head?

Problem is, for gigging...I need to have the capability to turn on the effects loop from my main Bogner footswitch. My other amps, VHT ST/50 and Mesa Mark V both have this built into the floorboard or footswitch.

Now, my Bogner has a reverb switch on the board but my amp does not have reverb. If at all possible, would someone be able to replace the reverb switch on my board with a switch that turns the loop on/off?

I know it can be done if there are plenty of other amps with these options. Does this require a relay in the effects loop to be installed in the head?
I guess the pedalboard would need to be rewired to do what I want.

I live near Philadelphia, PA.

Thanks!

Are you talking about making the Shiva FX loop switchable?

Yes, switchable from the amp's footswitch board. My VHT ST already has this as does the Mesa Mark V and other amps. I find this a HUGE help when gigging. This way I can have 2-3 effects on at once and ready to go with the stomp of a switch. I prefer this over using a separate loop device which adds more cables and another box.

With the way all the drivers are split on the Shiva, I am not sure there's enough circuitry on the board to do that with. Since yours doesn't have reverb, there is a spare socket to use for a return driver and switch. You should call Jorg at Bogner and see if there is any way to do that. Its not the foots switch that is an issue. With the Shiva, the FX loop is on once something is plugged in. The circuitry will have to be modified to do what you are wanting to do.

Good point on the design of the loop. My VHT for example and the Mark V I believe both have a switch on the head to turn on/off the loop.

Bringing back this thread from the dead. In the past few years, has anyone determined if you can make the fx loop footswitchable? I'd like to use my non existent reverb switch to control the fx loop!
