I mean, other than the usual - Guitar Center, Sam Ash.

Travelling there with my wife in a few weeks; may have to con her into buying me a guitar, since we will be spending time with my inlaws.

wasn't Thoroughbred music in Tampa?

Seriously, service wise, they were like sweetwater. Price wise, they buried everyone. They had LOTS of USA guitars. etc.

I think GC bought 'em out. :gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

From what I've gathered, Thoroughbred is no longer around, but I could be wrong.

There's a Guitar Centre near Sam Ash too, literally about 2 mins drive away - ask them for directions, I can't remember

Your right, Thoroughbred is closed from the GC onslaught. I got a ton of stuff from them, There was a guy who worked there who could find you ANY thing you wanted in 2 days. Awesome service. Had a lot of fun in there. Talked to Steve Clark (Def Leppard) in there 2 weeks before he died. He walked out with 4 killer Lesters. He must have played 30 of them. He cared about how they sounded way more than how they looked, you could tell he had a lot of exp. with them. One of them was a used one that he could tell would sound great with the right pup in it, they swapped them out for him on the spot, and it sounded awesome. Nice Guy  I miss that place   Oh, how the mighty have fallen

thanks for the responses guys. Other than the "legends" store, it doesn't look like there is much of anything in the area that would be worth going to.

indeed. I guess I was mostly thinking about Thoroughbred Music, which used to run a lot of ads in the magazines back in the 80's and 90's.

the thouroghbred stores here in orlando was replaced by sam ash a few years ago. Maybe the same thing happened in tampa

I just remembered, there's also a place called Express Music in Seminole Fl
that about 20minutes outside of tampa that's a Mesa, Bogner and Rivera dealer.
Perry's the owner and usually always there and let's ya crank'em :D
