Any idea what's wrong with my amp?

I have a Renegade 112 combo and I can't seem to get it working. The power just shut off one day and won't turn back on.

At first I thought it was a bad fuse, accompanied with bad tubes (I for sure blew a 5881/6L6). I went ahead and replaced both of the Fast-Blo fuses and replaced the EL34's and 5881/6L6's with new EHX EL34's and 6L6 tubes, thinking that would do the trick and I could set the bias and get everything moving.

It still won't even turn on, though everything seems it should be.

Any suggestions on what it might be?? I'm going crazy not being able to play the thing!

Did the amp turn on even for a second after you replaced those fuses and the tubes? Have you replaced the Mains fuse?

Could it be something as simple as a bad power cable, or bad power cable connection?

:scared:

@muudrock I replaced both of the fast-blo fuses, I haven't replaced the mains fuse yet. Where is that located on the amp? @Ian, it didn't power up at all. It actually just turned off while I was in the middle of playing it. It started crackling a little bit and then just dropped out.

Sounds like a fuse. Since you had a bad tube, it really sounds like a fuse...

From the little info I see here, I would agree with what has been said. Try changing the Mains fuse, next to the AC inlet, then take out all the power tubes. Turn the amp on and into play with no power tubes. If no fuses blow, and the amp stays on, then you probably had a bad tube that just took out the fuse when it went bad. If the new tubes you want to use are all good, you should be able to swap them in and not blow a fuse again. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask.

@Ian Ahhhhh. I see. I'll do that ASAP and let you know. Thanks a lot!

@Ian, It worked! I just left my voltage meter on a little too long and it died. So, once that's up and running, I'll be good to go. Thanks again!
