Hi there fellow Eganter Peeps :D

Newbie to the forum and all tube amps, been a hybrid guy for years, but after hearing the raves about the Tourmaster Head, had to take the plunge and liquidate my Hybrid gear! Anyone want to buy an AVT150H or AVT50 ;)

Played around for a couple of hours with the amp (way too little time) and using a 1960B cab loaded with G12-75's, I know these are more Heavy Metal speakers and perhaps just a bit too spanky or brittle for my taste, I've read where combining 2 X patterned vintage 30's would smooth that out?

I do a wide variety of stuff. Think covering as much ground as Foo Fighters with Classic, Grungy, Metal, and cleaner tones ala Zep, hence why I bought this Swiss Army knife of an amp

Using a Les Paul (SH2 & SH4 with coil tap) and American HSS Strat (stock) the vintage channels are sweet with both guitars as expected, Vintage 2 is nice and buttery with the LP's SH-2 in the bridge, but the OD channels can be a bit to brittle especially the Strat on middle and bridge pickups. Seems using the contour as in the suggested settings seems to help a little. I know it's all newbie stuff and time with the amp.

I'm looking to purchase the Egnater 2x12 cab for smaller gigs, how are these Elite 80's voiced?

Thanks, nice to have found this group

I'm selling an excellent condition Tourmaster 2 x 12 cab in the classifieds.

I have the Tourmaster combo, but I would definitely get the 2 X 12 cab. It sounds great! I'd jump on a good condition used one.

I'll have to save some pennies for the 2x12, been buying a lot of gear lately, the Tourmaster was my last major one for a bit.

Liking it with the 1960B Cab after playing with it a bit. Still haven't had a good solid 3-4 hours to dig into it, but the sound is getting there.
I find the contour really helps set at about 4 o'clock to control the mid on the OD channels.

My cleans were dialed in within minutes,of course to finding some good overdrive sounds were easy, but my sound and settings
will take a bit, then I will Crazy Glue the settings in place  er' maybe not!

Are the Elite 80s are voiced like GT75's or closer to a Vintage 30? This amp can sound like it can get honky even with the GT75's,
and think the Vintage 30's would work against you with this amp. Thoughts?
