I just arrived home late last night from my 2 week deal. There's a Egnater 4x10 box sitting in my living room. So, yes, I have one...and yes I will be opening that beotch up tonight and jamming on it!

So, I just unboxed it and hooked it up for a quick 10-15 minute test...and the prognosis is that Eggie has a winner here for sure!!!

I definitely am not gonna sell my TM212s or TM412 or anything to switch to this 100% of the time, but man...for the Renegade head this is gonna be one mean S.O.B.!!!!

I tried it w/ 3 modules (Twin, BMAN, and the single channel JiC module (Jeff's modded XTC)).

The Twin...holy hell....sounded an AWFUL LOT like my old Fender Super Reverb. I definitely see making my Mod50 a 5881 amp going foward and using it for my SRV / Texas blues style stuff. I can't wait to test the COD, as it could be the most bad ass speaker / cabinet combo w/ it. The Twin is so damn cool w/ the back off. I personally like it with the back off more as it lets it breath a bit more like a 4x10 should IMHO.

It's definitely a "greenback" in a 10" speaker kinda tone. Not a ton of lows, but a good deal amount of low mid punch, and good upper mids, with a bit of the highs rolled off. (I couldn't crank it yet as my daughter is sleeping upstairs). That will soon come later this afternoon!!!

From what I remember about 10s is that they liked to be pushed a bit before they start to roar. Same with these speakers. They obviously need some break in time, but I can definitely say I dig it so far!!!

I don't see myself using this for much more than a BMAN / Twin / COD / SL2X type of vibe. I personally don't think the EG5 will sound right through it. The EG5 sounds best through a K100 / CL80 combo IMHO!

The TM212 w/ K100 and CL80 is still by far my favorite setup. But the Renegade 4x10 is damn cool. And if I ever start playing in a blues band again, it will be my speaker cab of choice. That and my Mod50 are definitely going to be a match made in heaven.

Now onto to figuring out what 4 speakers I'm gonna throw in my TM4x12 for my Mod100. Scumback M75 60-watters or K100s?

Any thoughts?!?!?!? I did play a 4x12 w/ Scumback M75s and they sounded damn good!

okay...just cranked them up a bit...and wow...they are amazing!!! I LOVE this cabinet for sure. Perfect out of the box 100%!!!!

It's great for those BMAN, Twin, and SL / SL2X tones. Really is warm, creamy, and sparkly too on the clean tones. The mids in this are just perfect. EVEN BETTER than I remember from my old Fender Super Reverb 4x10 open back. This is definitely a blues guys dream, and also a rockers dream...for those that like Black Crowes, ZZ Top, Joe Bonamassa, and even an Eric Johnson type vibe.

They won't do metal...or anything that, which is where the K100s do best. So, I'm VERY glad I picked up this cabinet.

Jeff / Bruce. You definitely have a WINNER with this cabinet for sure. I definitely LOVE playing it w/ my Mod50 w/ the reverb tank. Need to install my 5881s here soon w/ my Twin and BMAN to see how it sounds with those!

Oh, and Eric, I think I may go with the scummies for the 412. You got your blues/rock covered with the 410, metal stuff with your 212 and then you'd have your classic/hard rock stuff covered with your 412. I almost think 4 K-100's may be a bit much??

Yeah. I'm really thinking of doing the Scumback M75s for the 4x12 too. I LOVED it w/ Pete Thorn's PT100 when I jammed on it at Tone Merchant's.
