Edge of Thorns is acually the one I found. There's no bass line or anything though. I'll have to do a lot of other tracks to make up for it. Do you have bass in the one you're working on? I was just down learning the song/solo. I'm getting frustrated. It's been a LONG time since I tryed to learn a solo. I don't have much for patience. I'll probably just fake some of it.

Love the Savatage. I haven't found backing tracks either. Just play along to the cd. On Edge of Thorns etc using winamp and some plugins to change pitch or slow down to learn.
I play Edge of Thorns, Conversation Piece, Damien and Degrees of sanity. Edge Damien and Degrees are drop D. I asked Chris Caffery what tunning to use and he said Power of the night was 1 step down except for Power of the night which is drop c Same for Hall of the mtn King. The rest of hall of the mtn king is 1 step down. Gutter Ballet is drop d and standard. I also Play Gutter Ballet, of Rage and war, warriors, city benath the surface , she flies on strange wings and agony and ecstacy If anyone has a good source for tab or backing tracks I would love to have it . Criss Oliva was one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

The version I'm working on will have a bass line. I'll let you know when I'm done.

I'm like you. I never try and learn a solo note for note. It just isn't worth it.
