anybody have thoughts on JB jr. or Lil Screamin Demon pickup

Had a JB Jr. in the bridge of my old Iron Maiden Strat. I thought it sounded awesome. :thumbsup:
 
too bad the search here is sucks, there was pretty good thread about the mini buckers a month or 2 back.


the JR actually sounds quite a bit like a JB, just not as hot.
 
I like the JB and hated the Screamin Demon. Never tried the Jr. versions of either, however.
 
I have a JB in my Kramer that sounds way better than my Axis' stock pickup, I just wish it played as good as my Axis. I was thinking of putting a JB in my Axis but it probably still would'nt sound as good being that it has a basswood body with a maple top. The Kramer is unfinished alder and sounds sweet :yes:

I tried a screamin demon a while back and remember being pretty disappointed...it actually sucked bigtime IMO :confused:

My Maiden Strat was actually basswood, which I normally can't stand, but the JB Jr. sounded real good in that guitar.
 
JB jr was almost all midrange in my guitar, 73 alder /maple hardtail. It would crunch my 2204 out well but it was too focused and small sounding overall. Sounded really small compared to the hot single I had in there. Might work well for 80s style metal or hard rock.

I had a screamin demon jr too that I liked more than the JB but something bothered me about the high mids or highs but that was along time ago.

well i mainly play 80's style music...even my own music has more of that flavor...so i figure either jb jr or lil screamin' demon would get me close..but jb may get the nod

Gonna have to +1 this.....

#1 on the stupid 'mistakes' in '07 was having to sell that strat
#2 was missing 2 separate chances on a Gothic Explorer..heh

I definitely miss that guitar. Was one of my all time favorites. Gonna be getting a Classic White Explorer pretty soon though. :D
 
i have a JB Jr. in the bridge of my mexi strat...it is very focused and has a LOT of midrange in that guitar (upper midrange), but the lows are tight and the highs arent very harsh, yet very present. i like it a lot...its also got a little extra power considering i only have it wired up with the Jr. and a volume LOL i like it though :rock:
