Anybody hit the Smallbox Plexi channel with a distortion pedal?

Picked up another Smallbox, and wanted to experiment more with the Plexi Channel. An OD into the High Gain channel sounds phenomenal, but doesn't get me enough gain on the Plexi Channel. Any Distortion pedal recommendations? Something that's not so out of control or colors the tone but compliments it? Thought about a BE-OD, but they kill the mids and changes the character too much.

Never tried it. Sold it before the Hot Mod arrived, and then sold the Hot Mod
