just wondering if anybody has experimented with kt77s in a shiva. what are the benefits of running kt77s over el34s in a shiva

Wanted to bump this old thread. I just changed my 20th Shiva to KT77s and it is a big improvement over EL34s in the Shiva. Cleans are more full, high gain is tighter and more aggressive, lows are also a touch bigger. They seem smoother to me. I LOVE the KT77s!

From Eurotubes - JJ KT77
The 20th Shiva runs kind of cold. I have never been able to bias an EL34 above 29 on this amp so I ordered the KT77s at a #40 hot grade from Eurotubes and they work so well!

After trying all the tubes, I went back to regular EL34s (JJ) - I find the JJ EL34 sounds best. The KT77s lacked creamy mids and the E34L is not as warm and creamy as the EL34. The E34L adds lows that you don't need because all my amps have lots of low end.
