I always struggle to find good boxes to ship amps in so recently, I bought 1 or 2 from UPS and they cost $20 each.

I realized that I can buy 15, 200 pound test boxes from ULINE for $45. Of course I don't need 15 boxes, but I could use them for years and never have to buy another box.

Seems like a no brainer. Any downsides?

I ordered from uline once. They were good. But I just needed 1 box to ship a head and once I got the boxes, it sold locally... so I had 20 boxes lying around for a long time...

Go to a local moving company. I bought heavy duty boxes from one when I was moving my office. They were $20 for 15 boxes. Actually they gave me a bunch of used ones for free too.

I just went through hell trying to find a box to ship my VH4 in because I did not want to pay the Fedex/Kinkos store to pack it for me. I wound up letting Fedex/kinkos packing it and it only cost me about $35. They packed the hell out of it using two boxes and the expanding foam packs, it was fast and painless and worth the few extra bucks (literally) it would have cost me to get the material and do it myself.

ooh, good info. thanks guys. I usually make my boxes from other larger ones. it's a pain to say the least

I think I may have gotten a good deal, the lady seemed to be a little unsure of the packing rates. Even if it would have been $40-$45 I would let them do it. I don't really flip amps so I don't have to deal with shipping much.

Uline is way too much considering the shipping. Just go to a local packing store. I buy boxes for 5 or 6 bucks a piece hat work great for heads. They usually buy from Uline and will add a box or two to their free freight orders for you.

The UHAUL suggestion looks pretty good. They have shipping boxes that are 34x18x14 for $3.25 and no minimum order. Spend $25 and shipping is free. Waiting for them to call back with what weight they are rated for.

I think you got a deal. The UPS store had to make me a box and that alone was $20.
