I'll be ordering a 50W Einstein head within the next few weeks and I'm looking for a 1x12 cab to go with it. A lot of people have recommended the Bogner Cubes and the Custom Audio Electronics 1x12 cabs. I believe they are very similar and have top notch ratings with many users to support them, but I'm also very interested in the Diezel 1x12. I mean cmon, its a DIEZEL!!! Unfortunately, there are none of the Boger, CAE, Diezel 1x12's where I live, so I'm wondering if anyone can gimme some comments or suggestions on Diezel's 1x12.

Also, I believe the Einstein fits perfectly on the Diezel 1x12, right? If someone can confirm that, that'll be great, but I'm more concerned with how they sound.

Thanks in advance!!

Cuz I don't gig anymore and now I'm mainly an apartment player with some occasional recording. I feel like 2x12's or 4x12's might be overkill, won't it?

I think so....but even a 1x12 it's kind of overkill for bedroom playing. At least Diezels sound great at low volumes. I'd suggest getting an attenuator, or maybe a volume pedal in the loop.

I have a 2x12 and at the moment I'm only playing in my bedroom (I use the volume pedal in the loop) and even though it's great, I think an attenuator will be my final purchase to solve this.

Attenuators merely will suck your tone. What you do is you boost the Master Volume to a pretty high setting and you use the channel volume to control the overall volume level, crazy good poweramp distortion at bedroom levels. The best of both worlds. I literally can get a screaming tone that won't wake up my brothers in the next room. Great stuff.

Yeah...I already have the hotplate (the purple 8 ohm one), but still considering if I should be using it with the Einstein since the MV is so good. Well, I'm actually thinking of getting two 1x12's so either I can use both with the Diezel or use one with the Diezel and the other with my Jmp-1/Mesa 20/20 rack. The 1x12's will only be my home rig though. Although I don't gig, I bring my amps around to my friend's place and a friend-owned cafe to jam, and they have their own cabs I can use.

Anyone with experience with the Diezel 1x12 care to comment?

Honestly, it depends on the amount of bass and gain one uses. I've used a 2x12 and a 1x12 and didn't really care for them when using much gain. Cleans and tweed sound good. Although if you are wanting a 1x12 for volume control I wouldn't recommend it. It is still loud. Diezel's are really good for low volumes. Power attenuators are hard on the Diezel's transformers and aren't really nessesary.

If u r in an appartment situation make a sound isolation box.

Scroll down to where he talks about mic'ing a Cab. He shows you briefly how to make a sound issolation box. He's Dave Weiner form the Steve Vai band in case you don't already knwo who he is. Really smart guy.

There is not that much difference between loudness of 1x12 & 2x12. The only 1x12 I could recommend as of now is something with EVM12L in it. I have a Bogner Cube 1x12 with v30 & though Cube is a great cabinet, a single v30 doesn't sound pleasing to my ear. On the other hand the Mesa Thiele I had with EVM12L (it had the harshness of mesa cabs) sounded very good in the room with Herbert, not that good in front of the speaker though.
