Any country players on here using a Mod50/ Mind sharing what modules and settings you're using?

Here's a clip from a few years back using my AC30. Hopefully soon I'll have the VX module to compare.

Forget about the Mod 50, if I played Country, I'd have to slit my wrists. LOL! :D

Sorry, just joking man! I am not a country fan but I meant no disrespect. There are some KILLER country players! I am sure the 50 sould do it easily!!!

Ha ha how about country metal? You just don't find many good country metal bands these days

I play some country- These guys don't know what they are missing! They are just jealous!

I don't have the Mod 50, but it is all basically a matter of the choice of modules there. Sounds like you would want the cleaner end- VX, T/D, Bassman. Tourmaster will get some good country tones.

;) :D     :scared:  :gethim:

I have the T/D module. I'm going to have it modded to a D/D. I like a little breakup in my clean tones. I'd love to try a Bman and a VX. Is there anyone near Baltimore that has one I can demo?

Yea, I was totally joking about the slitting of wrists. I am sure there are plenty of people who hate my music and hang themselves, LOL! ;) :) :D

Wagster - that is some hot playing...big Brent Mason fan here! Very difficult tune and I've seen so many guys butcher it on YouTube, but you really nailed it. As for the modules, I think the D/D or the BMan might be what you are looking for, and COD might be also worth checking out (esp. Ch A). EG2 on the MICA 100 totally nails that type of tone, IMHO. I love the Vox module as well but I find it works better for Brit-pop stuff.

Wow!! You are a smoking hot guitar player. I think there is a clip on the main page of a country guitar type module. Sounds awesome. Am also interested in playing country and I have no fears that Egnater amps can't handle it. I played the Renegade and that amp has a great clean channel that has the bounce for country. Put a compressor in front and it would rip, I am sure. However, like you, I have my eye on the MOD 50.

First thing I'd do is get some max headroom power tubes.

Highly recommended are the TS 6550's.

  he works for TS.

I've been thinking about picking up a set of TS6550's for a while. I'm currently using the Sovtek 5881's which work and sound fine. I also like EL34B's but they sound too buttery on the cleans at loud gig volumes. I'm surprised at how well the SL module can do old school metal JMP tones. Another one of my favorite tones in on the Deluxe side with the gain cranked with the mids at 3:00. I've never been able to nail so many tones on a gig like I can with the Mod50. It's taken my overall live tone to another level.

Honestly, I think changing of the power tubes will make a pretty big difference. The Sovtek's sound ok, but most of us change them out with better results.

What's the tone difference between Sovtek and Tung-Sol 5881's? Between the two, which one has the better clean tone? Also how does the TS 6550's compare to the 5881's with clean tones?

Thanks Beagle1. After Namm I'm sending my T/D to Jeff to be modded to a D/D. The BMAN sounds great from the clips I've heard. Especially the Bluesy clip that Jeff posted.
