Probably going to pull the trigger on a Badger 30 and matching 1x12 with the next two weeks. You can order the cabs with a variety of different speakers and I was hoping someone could chime in with advice on what sounds good with the Badger. The reason I'm asking is that the store isn't going to have cans with every speaker option that's offered.

I had a Badger 30 and a Badger 35. I am normally not a big fan of EL84 amps but I really preferred the 35 to the 30. The 35 can cover chimey cleans to plexi tones and has some of the best dynamics of any amp on the market. Play lightly you get clean - dig in, you get crunch. It's probably the best Suhr Amp I've played.

SL-67, Badger 30, Corso, PT100

Badger 35 is really, really that good. And it loves pedals

Good info. I'm like you with EL84's but I value opinions. I'll end up trying the 18, 30, and the 35.

if you can try them all it will be fun to demo them all. you can't go wrong with either, 35 is just fun man

I was originally gravitating toward the 18 but had concerns about if it would be loud enough. I'm a single channel guy and set an amp crunchy and use my volume knob and pedals to get more or less gain.

both are loud, depends how loud you need it to be, 18 watts cranked is gonna get your ears ringing for a good while.

With my Badger 35 I never ran the power scaling. Power on 10 and use the Drive as the master volume, then set the gain to about 1:00 - 2:00

It's definitely a touch-sensitive crunch type amp IMO. What it does it does well but depends on what you're looking for. What sort of tones are you looking to get from it?

Pop rock cover band. Everything from Badfinger to to Eve 6.
