A friend of mine here at work keeps asking if I know anyone that builds a good SLO clone for a decent price.

Why not just get an Aiken Saber and have a similiar/better sounding amp than an SLO. ;)

Yup that's right. I remember now. Thanks. We were talking about different classic amps and people who are making clones and selling kits and he said he always wanted a SLO but could never afford one if I knew of any clone kits or someone that made them.

Don't get the "Heather" by Weber . . .

I bought Jeff's - and am in the process of rewiring it. What do you think is wrong with the heather, olaf? I"m thinking of using the transformers and chassis (and headshell, it has a cool snakeskin one) and just buying an SLO board and wiring it up like one. Any idea where I can buy an SLO board set? I can etch small boards like for pedals, not ginormous ones like an amp PCB.

Yeah, Dropped is great to do business with and his buddy makes a nice clone.
He had sent me pics and clips last year when i was looking at one.
I think he could make a head or a preamp if i recall.

Over at the SLOClone forums. One of the Mods has had two batches of boards made so far. He may still have some extras left. They are top-notch boards. I have a set and in my next life, when I have time I'm going to build my clone. :aww:

Great quality boards! I think knucklefux posts here and Im pretty sure he has made two sloclones.. I also think he is or was selling the last one he made.

I recently purchased some SLO clone PCB boards from smashguitars over at the sloclone forums. They are very nice. Hopefully soon I can start buying the parts I need to build it.

If you want the worst one possible, sure, have at it. Hell, buy a Recto, too! We all know that's an SLO clone, as well, and they all sound so alike!

Hi Pete, as already been said, over at SLO Clone Forum you'll find jed or smash if you want a PCB. http://www.turretboards.com sells PTP turret boards.
Wrong - well I don't like the layout of it, I don't like that it gets the power for the switching off the heaters, certain parts qualtity - and I think that its better to have DC heaters for V1 and V2 in the SLO, boards also available over at the forums. Believe it or not, the amp (even with the original layout) hums a bit too much for my taste with the original heaters. Its an easy fix though . . .
