Anyone like the Celestion G12-65 speakers?

I am ordering a Stone Age 212C cabinet but I need speakers that will work with my Splawn and Bogner Shiva. My Bogner sounds great through my Bogner 212 with V30s but I also want to be able to mix and match cabs and speakers so I was thinking of some sort of high powered Greenback int he Stone Age.

Even though I have used the Scumback M75, I thought the G12-65 was warmer and darker so I am tempted to go back to that. Maybe a Splawn Small Block?

Thoughts, suggestions?

I decided on the G12-65s! I just prefer Celestions all around. To me they are proven and have more depth and character than Emienence and WGS I have tried. I am replacing everything with Celestions. Sticking with what I know! LOL

I love the 65 for the chewy thing. I have a YT vid where I am playing my SLO through a THD 2x12 with a 65 and CL 80.

My Stone Age Cabs should be due around the end of the month. I have a pair of M75 65w's for one 212c and a set of M75LHDC 65w's for the other which are very close to the G12-65's. Kind of a flier that I don't know the results of yet but I am pretty confident they will be a good choice

Some guys complain the G12-65 is too dark and smooth. I want to try the new Creambacks. Scumbacks can also be very smooth and dark....unless you get the H75 which is bright.

Jim told me for rock and hard rock, the small dust cap M75, J75 and H75 are best. Large dust caps best for metal.

I like the G12-65. Have a JCM800 cab loaded with them. Sounds great!

Whoever says they're too dark just needs to turn up their treble and presence a hair! :D

Haha, I hear ya but I think I am.going with a Scumbacks M75 and J75 for my stone age. Going with the Creamback and Lynchback for my Port City. I don't have a Marshall. My amps are far from bright so the G1265s do not work as well. ;)

With a Bogner Shiva or my Egnater Mod 50 it was too dark and got tired of people saying I wasn't cutting through well. Once I went to V30s, it was tonal heaven.

I like them mixed with a V30, or by them self in a open back 2X12.
