Anyone tried the EVH LBX S?

Is it out yet?

I used to own an LBX II which I traded for an original LBX. I don't regret trading it at all because I love the red channel on the LBX, but there's a few things I don't like about it. I don't mind it not having a clean channel, but the blue channel is pretty unusable because it's louder than the red channel, and it's too low gain on its own without a boost. There's one problem, because I find all of my TS-type OD pedals thin it out a way too much.

I miss the green channel on the LBX II, and the blue channel was a lot better on it as well.

I wonder how the LBX S is. Is the red channel the exact same as on the original LBX or does it have the "stealth" tweaks to it? Is the green channel the same as the LBX II?

I'm just undecided about getting an LBX S or an LBX II to compliment my LBX 1. Which green channel is better? Which overdrive channel is better, II's blue or S's red? Which has an overdrive channel that's more different from the LBX 1?

I don't think it is out yet. I've looked around and all I've seen is pre-order.

Mine is on the way as of Friday last week..supposed to be here Thursday this week from Staples Nevada warehouse.
I had the original LBX so this one should sound great.

Bump! I'm considering either the LBX S or the LBX II for my bedroom rig. Anyone got any opinions?

I have one. Its pretty great. I haven't plugged my 50 watt stealth in at home since I got it. Here's a shitty video lol.

Sounds killer, man! Have you ever had a chance to try the 1 or the LBX II? I wonder if the II or the S would be better for me.

I've played the original one, but not the II. The 2 is supposed to be Crunch and Clean, the original is Crunch and Lead. This one is Lead and clean. Lead channel seems similar to what I remember of the original.

I own it, and it's definitely good, especially for bedroom guys. Volume has a really nice taper.

However, it is the red channel, slightly tweaked from the LBXI and I feel that the best part of the EVH amps is the Blue channel, so wish the LBX had the blue instead of red.

I had the II as well, but it was an absolute fizzy mess until you got the volume CRANKED, and at that point, kind of defeated it's purpose.

Is the difference in red channels kinda like the 50W 6L6 vs. the 50W Stealth? More clarity in the low mids and more aggression in the highs/high mids?

I'll have to check them again. I haven't compared directly and haven't played them much to be honest

I have the 50 watt Stealth, and I can only say that it's more aggressive than the other 50's, and I've own the LBX as well, (not S). I disliked that amp because it had a hair-trigger loud factor, which defeated the purpose of a "lower" watt, lower volume "lunchbox"...

From my experience, I've found the 50's BETTER at low volume than the 15, so that's the way I stayed buying another couple. My advice, just jump to the 50 that still sits on a 1x12, so still small package. If you want the best clean, most aggressive blue, and warmer, punishing red, the Stealth 50 is the clear one.

So I ended up getting an LBX II because I found a good deal. Don't regret it. It sounds different enough from my OG LBX to justify having both, and the clean channel is fantastic.

I still kinda want an LBX S to complete my collection, though. LOL.
