I own cabs with V30's and also K100's, and was wondering about thoughts on the amps and these specific speakers.

The new FL 4x12's come loaded with G12K100's and they kick ass.

Period.

have with both. Love it with the VH4...not as much with the Herbie. Lil too neutral for me. Records awesome also.

For the Herbert, you have to mix it with another speaker. All 4 G12K100 are too neutral for my taste, too.

i like all 4 g 12k100. gives me good control with my eq and lets me here alot of the guitar im putting into it. i know im odd but hey, it sounds good to me :D

I have been using a Marshall MF400 at the studio lately, and I think I am ready to sell it. It is loaded with K100's, and at first I really liked it, but I think there is just too much bottom end, and not enough tightness that I get with V30's...I tried mixing cabs, 1-v30, 1-k100, but the v30 overrides the tone of the k100, due to the extra mids and highs, and i cant even hear the k100's.

i like the fullness of the k100's, but i can't figure out whether it is the speaker, or the cab that is throwing me off.

I mixed 2 V30s with the K100s in my new Diezel FL cab. i use it live with my VH4 & its the cats ass. Great mix!

If you like G12T-75s then you'll like K100s. Same s&$t, different day, IMO. Sterile and little character...

I find GT75's creamy, I find GK100's surgical. In the application of a VH4(S), the GK100's are best IMHO. For a Herbster? Follow Papa's advice and go all V30's or a mix of GT's and 30's - which is exactly what the Bogner UberKab has, which sounds a lot like a Herbie in the higher registries (the Uberschall TJ, that is)... I'm not going to argue the Uberschall/Herbie comment just posted, I am going to say, there's a reason GT75's and V30's are in the UberKab, and perhaps along the same reasoning Peter "Papa" says all V30's for the Herbster's cabinet.

Peace,
V.

John 15:85 book 2. Pass whatever it is in your pipe, V. I've got a razor-sharp scalpel; some sour cream and ready for a surgical procedure…

I had a chance at 2010 NAMM to a/b the the FL K100 vs. V30 cabs. This is always the best situation. To my ears the K100 would offer the best straight forward heavy punch, chug and grind. The V30's had more color to them and definitely shined in the cleans department. One thing is for sure - the new Front loaded cabs are for real. I own a USA made Rear Loaded V30 cab and was able to a/b at NAMM - FL vs. RL V30 cabs. I wasn't even a contest for me. FL V30
