in our current situation, we mostly play gigs where we just cant use our own cabs - and i'm sure many of you are aware of the "typical" backline-cab. in the best case, its a Marshall 1960 - but mostly cheaper Randalls, even Harley Bentons, and what have you...

so, i've recently heard many good things about the HK Redbox, even from many more professional bands, and i just wanted to ask if anyone here is using those and can recommend it (or something else)? it sounds like a good idea to me that at least the sound for the audience is "fixed".

the redbox is cool. nice warm sound. but i had to use a preamp with it to bring the gain up, or i just didn't really know how to use it. the behringer gi-100 is also cool. it's an active DI/speaker sim so the gain from the get go was good. i have both and like both.
