So, big DUH moment for me - I just discovered the magic of using pre-gain EQ! You'd think I would have tried it by now, but I always stayed away from those EQ pedals. Used the EQ from my Line6 M9 and for pre-gain EQ on Ch2 of the Renegade and it really opens up a load of additional tonal possibilities! Who knew? (OK, probably everyone but ME!!  )

Anyway, now I'm wanting one, and wondering if any of you guys have any recommendations. I think I want a dedicated pedal so I don't have to burn one of the 3 slots on the M9. Looks like the Boss and Dunlop/MXR graphics are the most available and inexpensive. I saw some Barber and Carl Martin ones, but I don't feel like dropping over $200 for those. Also saw AnalogMan has a modded Boss graphic for $150 - maybe that's the best compromise?

Thanks!
Rick

MXR 10 band for me and RM50. Usually in the loop but I will toss it out front from time to time. I am still experimenting with modules and effects placement though. Who knows were everything could eventually end up.

For me, the Boss EQ pedal was a little hissy and noisy. Your results may vary.

I used to use the danelectro fish & chips in front so that my distortions weren't so bright when I switched to my strat (cover band), and for 25 bucks or whatever that thing is it can't be beat.

AnalogMan "claims" their mod fixes that, but then you have to drop $150 to find out

Check out the BYOC EQ.

Looks badass, and you can have it made instead of assembling it yourself, for not much more than the kit.

Too bad it's out of stock.

I had and dug the Dano fish and chips!

Hmmmm for $29, that's almost a no-brainer.

Thats what i figured, and it is very transparent and quiet (when you want it to be). The ONLY drawback to the thing is the footswitch on it can be hard to hit, but since I used it in a midi switcher that didn't matter.
