Hi,

Anyone have any experience using the Groove Tube Substi-Tubes or THD Yellow Jacket EL34/6L6 to EL84 tube converters?

I am running a VHT 2/50/2 with my M4, but I don't run it in stereo, so I was thinking of putting a set of EL84 converters in one side and leaving the EL34s in other side. That way, when I am running my SL and EG3/4 modules, I could run EL34s, but when I run my DLX or VX modules, I could run EL84s.

Thanks.

Do it...the YJ/EL84s sound awesome for Vx and great for light/medium crunch tones! They lack somewhat under high gain if you like bass..but it's a cool feel nonetheless.

I've had Yellow Jacket Triodes in my MOD50 forever, and I absolutely love them! And they have a smoother grid than the normal Yellow Jackets, so the bass response sounds far more even—great for high gain! Highly recommended!
