Any guys here using Scumbacks with their Bogners?
Are you liking it better than the V30s?

I've got a quad of greenbacks as well. How close would you say the M75s are to them? Do you have the 25 or 65 watt version? Thanks!billm408":tdlv2ms8 said:I've got a Bogner OS 2x12 loaded with the M75's that's awesome. But my main cab is still the Bogner 4x12 w/ Greenbacks. When I get a chance to pair 'em together it just kills! Both of which I prefer to the V30's.

That would be awesome! I keep hearing how great these Scumbacks are and how people are selling off their speaker collection upon finding their tone with Scumback, but I'm thinking the greenbacks are pretty tough to beat. V30s or G12T-75s? Maybe not so much, though in the right setting, I really like the G12T-75.billm408":1vbl1cal said:TheMagicEight":1vbl1cal said:I've got a quad of greenbacks as well. I've got the 65w. The M75's are based on the pre-rola greenback's so they're different from the current GB's you get today. More bottom and a little darker. And it could just be the difference between 65w and 25w, but they don't have that crisp crackling top end that the GB's have.
I've been meaning to do a comparison vid... maybe I'll post something tomorrow. 4x12 with greenbacks, 2x12 with the scumbacks and both together.
Cool! Definitely like the Bogner cab more, though I wonder how much has to do with the cab itself instead of the different speakers. I think I can hear the difference in speakers despite that, so thanks for the clip!billm408":3n5nndaq said:OK... here's a quick vid comparing Greenbacks and Scumback M75's.
Pardon the clamapalooza- my carpal tunnel's acting up a bit today.
Anyway... Bogner XTC 101B w/ KT88's all blue channel.

Ahh, right. Yes, the 4x12 is what I liked more. Again, maybe it's just the cab design more than the speakers, though both sounded awesome!billm408":r3g2yt4b said:TheMagicEight":r3g2yt4b said:Cool! They're both Bogner cabs, and the 2x12 is almost the same size as the 4x12. You mean the greenbacks over the M75's? That's my preference although running them together brings out the best in both IMO.
3 cabs Brad? That's awesomely excessive!!

However, the only really fair way to test these two speakers would be in the same cab, same height from the floor, and not in two different cabs. A 4x12 will always sound different/bigger/etc than a 2x12, especially if the 4x12 is sitting on the floor, and the 2x12 is sitting on top of the 4x12.
I'm figuring most of you know this, but just wanted to make the distinction in case someone just listened and didn't see the cab positioning.
I'd tend to say that the settings for the 2x12 should be readjusted, then the whole thing gets closer to the GB's, although the highs will never be the same with a 65 watter... although I still think all these speakers are too smooth for that jailbreak Ac/dc sound, on plexi mode...Scumback Speakers":2ij5vzq0 said:billm408: I appreciate the effort to show the differences between the speakers.
