Arcane Pickups...?

Just wanted to see what the experiences have been like form those who have ordered pickups form Arcane? I ordered a Mr. Scary set back in late January and saw where it was going to be one to three weeks before they shipped. As we are entering March, and I still haven't received any updates from them, I am wondering if I should start getting concerned. Thanks in advance.

I’ve ordered from Arcane a few times and shipping was a little slow. I think they sometimes make pickups on order vs having stock maybe. They may be shipping slower now as they are in North Hollywood. Not sure what all the fires may have affected near them.

I’ve ordered some before. Took around a month and as the poster above mentioned, a lot of them are made when they’re ordered. He could potentially be backed up, and I imagine NAMM happening recently probably is a factor of time as well.

I wouldn’t stress too much over it.

AFAIK that is normal for Arcane.

You'll get your pickups, though, it's not gonna be a Motor City Situation

So, i ordered a pickup from them. They delivered and it was trem spaced, so he said no big deal, just send it back and i will get you one normal spaced (no place on website lets you order spacing)

I never received. I have emailed the guy a lot. He doesnt respond. One day, i will go meet him when in LA. I dont think he will be proud of his decision when that day comes

What actually is the MCP situation? I can't seem to get a reply, should I just make an order for a custom that isn't listed on the site and pray?

I love the hothead, best I've tried so far. Had one used, ordered one new years ago and it took a while....then when my order was ready he gave it to a more important customer, was gonna make me wait again so I opted for a refund. I figured maybe he blacklisted me by name and that's why I haven't gotten a reply.

Anyone use them lately or what's their story these days?

Chris' situation is indicative of a lot of transactions with wade. Imo there's better options out there with less headache.

Jim Wagner absolutely kills, and I'd take an Ironman over a hothead any day 🤷

Plus the chances you'll actually get the pickup are higher

No. Man. Mine is with arcane..

Ah my bad

Wade is crazy with that shit though lol
Yeah. I never had interest in motor city, but not long after the arcane fuck took my money, i went with scottosan and I have been pleased.

I am actually about to try a vintage Japanese PAF copy. I am very excited about it.

I got a pickup about a year ago and placed order online, no communication but it arrived about 6 weeks later. Also got a Custom 13 a few years ago...same deal, no comms but got the pickup. I think the Mr Scary is just a Lynch branded Custom 13...I.e. A8 mag with 13k wind. Gotta admit, it's a cool pu imo. Fun to play.

Maybe he's backed up between namm, fires etc. Business administration isn't his strong suit, but his pickups are cool. Probably loads of others just as good though.

The only guy that seems to be able to get pickups from them is George Lynch. Just buy Duncan custom shop or from builders like Pariah that you know have solid turn around times.

He builds factory pickups for Luxxtone and other guitar companies so his line of pickups is not his priority. I don't think he will rip you off but the lack of communication is frustrating for sure. He lists pickups on Ebay as well and seems to deliver what he sells there, I don't see any negative feedback there.

My last purchase from the Seymour Duncan custom shop and Jalen was flawless with great communication and pickups were delivered in around 2 weeks.

I think Pariah used to have a Lynch 13K A-8 mag pickup called Skere but I don't know if he builds them any longer.
