My wife randomly order me 2 dozen JD Tortex .88mm picks from …. God love her, TEMU. $3.48/pk
Upon opening something was off. The picks were not in any manufacturer packaging, just the TEMU package. Some of the picks looked smeared and many have the rough after-burrs “nibble marks?” from being punched out of the original material. Are they QC factory rejects or are they Chibson?

Bottom left (larger pile) are some of them, top right are actual new picks that I already had.

Moved from OTC to the main RT sub-forum; this definitely belongs there bro'.

It takes heavy (warm) use or wet hands to smear the words, me thinks they were just used lol

It would be pretty crazy to fake .25 cent picks...but these days who knows. I'd guess factory seconds. Does the plastic feel the same?

I think they were bought from the fake temu site instead of the real one with all the name brand items at great prices.

China will make a knock off of any product, even one that won't make them any money. In 2015 I released an EPK. Whatever scum company my bandmate hired to do the print up sold all my artwork and tracks to the Chinese, who I caught selling for $5 per CD on ebay. My cost per unit was about $5 considering studio time and printing costs. I sold and gave away maybe 500 units total at shows so I doubt they made much money off it. I'm sticking with disc makers this time even though they are a little more money. Protecting your work from pirates is worth a few extra bucks to me.

You had me at "My wife randomly ordered me..." to which I thought..... what a lucky man!

Then you said
"....picks..." and thought, dude can I be you for a day?! 😄 🤣
