I stayed in Tempe but went to Phoenix

That's one of the best Scorps albums....
I once asked H-CAF about Scorps tone and I got laughed at and ignored. I was totally serious! I think they generally have awesome rock guitar tones and wondered how they do it. Marshalls I guess...

Yep back in the day I think they used 50 watt Marshalls--Mathias is way under rated--and Blackout would be my favorite album by them

Oh Yeah.....Blackout was one of the 1st cassette tapes I bought. Fell in love with those guys at that point.

Love the Scorpions. Arizona is my favorite song on Blackout. I love everything from the Scorpions, maybe not so much Lonesome Crow. I hope they continue to make new music.

Such a great band. One of the reasons I picked up guitar. Matthias is great but also really love the earlier stuff with Uli Roth. Also remember Michael Schenker played on Lovedrive (my personal favorite album).

Great tune on a great album. A couple of my bands did this one just after the record came out. My favorite Scorps record, well, tied with Lovedrive. Glad to see this song get some love!

I think Methias' leads and tone are awesome! Sounds like he has total command of the guitar, and does everything with ease!

IMO, he one of the best tone's during the 80's compared to many other big bands of the era.
All the solo work in 'Rock you like a hurricane' are really f*ing great.
