Rocco playing the AFXIII 1959SLP Treble model

There's no post processing at all, this is recorded straight out of the unit via USB

sounds good...cleanest axe3 tone i’ve heard

Saw Journey & Def Leppard this past Friday here in Fort Lauderdale Florida. I had heard on the Fractal forum that both bands are using the AFXIII for all guitar tones + effects on this tour, so about 30 minutes before the show started I went up to the sound guy for Journey & asked him if this was true. He confirmed it & told me both bands think it's the best most consistent sound they've ever had. He raved about the AFXIII.

The show was great with hot chicks everywhere :D The guitar tones were awesome

Forget the tonez; tell us about the chicks, man!

A man's gotta get his priorities straight after all...

Yes yes, more about the whores...err, ah I mean chicks please !

I think it is quite representative of SLP tone for modeling. It has a bit of chirp and some clank yet not too gained out and compressed.

Well, Def Leppard and Journey are the synonyms of processed sound.

also....Metallica / Megadeth /Deftones /Opeth /Chris Broderick / Devin Townsend / Avenged Sevenfold etc..etc...

To name only a drop in the bucket of artists using the AFX for amp tones

since when do Opeth? didn’t know that. they always had great Laney tone

Doesn't sound bad but a little too compressed for a stock superlead tone, have yet to hear the AXE FX do a convincing AC/DC tone

I've seen most of them this summer, and Devin had a great tone, Megadeth was pathetic, Syn Gates always had a harsh sound.
Never the less, bands are using it for convenience, not for the tone. It's "good enough".
Less weight, consistency and almost 0 sound check is a big + for any touring act.
Besides, I see a lot more bands touring with the kemper. For a musician it's a lot easier to deal with. You don't have to "craft" your sound, just tweak the sound from the studio.
The best bag for the buck? An old Axe standard as a dedicated multi effects unit. Blows everything out of the water price wise and sound wise.

I vision in 5 years time "We are back to the real amps, we want to give a real experience to our audience, and now go and buy t-shirts."

and real experience for the musicians too, Gojira still like to move some air with 4 4x12 each guitar player

direct tone to the sound board with some modeling unit its not the same energy

Yea, and all these big bands have dedicated sound to make everything sound as good and consistent as possible. You can certainly hear the drawbacks when local bands use digital live for sure.

How does the Ax III feel? I tried the Kemper, and, to me it felt like playing a computer.

First time I've actually listened to an axe clip all the way. I think it sounded awesome.
