and there are many more Marshall amp models available

Sounds good!
There's a little sauce in there, which obviously sounds good, but I like that he uses a lot of the sounds with no sauce at all, its easier for me to hear the actual tones he was going for vs the dry tone of the amp that was being modeled. I dont have all of those heads to reference them against, but Ive had all of them at one point or another across the past 40 years. They are pretty dam close to what I can remember about each of them

Having owned a 100 watt plexi and 71 SL since 1990 and playing dozens upon dozens more, I have to say this clip sounds very little like the underlying amps. Before the hate starts, I really want a modeler to nail that tone, because when they do, I’m selling all of my amps. lol.

I think they AXE is very cool and for certain uses, it's great.

But, the tones in the AX8 were just too far off for me to justify keeping it. Sounded great for a modeler, and was much better than the Helix a friend of mine owns.....
But after plugging in to my Marshalls and Mesa they were just waay better than the AXE. Still a long ways to go IMO...
Maybe the AXE III is that much better? Who knows. For recording and ease of use for the gigging Musician I get it.
I tried FRFR and running through the FX return of my C++. No dice.

For some live and recording situations units like the AxeFX sounds better than a tube amp. Sorry but it does. That said in some live and recording situations a tube amp is going to be so much better than a modeler. Bottom line is use the best tool for the job and one tool isn't is the best for every single situation.

If all you do is play/record at home and can crank your amp there loud then a tube amp can't be beat. Same could be said for that if you play out and have to carry the room volume wise with your amp.

But if you have any volume restrictions at home or at gigs then modern modelers sound and function "waay" better than tube amps. Sorry if this pisses of tube purists but it's true.
