Any love for them? I've always wanted a Mockingbird, but I know they've been made in Korea for years now which may or may not be good. I haven't really thought about owning one in years until this craigslist ad caught my attention.

 or  ?

I've heard good things but would buy from a store that has a decent return policy

I have always liked mocking birds. ocho I like it go for it

Not a fan of most B.C. Rich guitars but I really like the Mockingbird (with the Bich and Gunslinger) as for this exact model? I'm not sure but don't knock it cause it's Korean. The Gunslinger Retros (Like mine) that came back in '08 were made in Korea but the first year came stock with alder, satin finished maple neck, DiMarzio Super D and OFR... And usually sell for only $400 nowadays

So they had great Korean models in 08, but every year after they slowly decreased in quality... Worse pickups, worse trems, worse wood, etc

Save your shekels and pick up a used US Mock offa ebay, the BCR forum or the BC Rich Junkies FB. Scored a blue Mock ST a few years ago and totally didn't dig it. The neck was really wide and thin (unlike any BCR I've played...US made) and the frets were low and narrow (I measured them with dial calipers against my US Mocks just to be sure I was seeing things right) despite the description of being jumbo. Also the body was a bit thicker and the top was kinda square on the edges because of the veneer.

I know there are some cats who dig their Korean made BCRs and that's cool but as a long time BCR player (since '85) I strongly suggest you holdout for a US made axe.

US made is totes better than Korean, but if you're looking for an overseas model don't knock it cause it ain't from Fujigen or anywhere else in Japan. BCR's factory in Korea put out pretty quality instruments

That's just the dilemma... Some Korean made guitars are quite good, especially for the money. BUT... I think I'm gonna pass on it. I'm not in need of another guitar at the moment, and I should just wait until I find one that's a real keeper. Not to mention that what I DO need is a Les Paul. :D

Special X? They are well built guitars. I have 2, a Special X and an SL...both are made in Korea and really decent quality. Some cheaper pots and pickups but that is to be expected fro the price line

here's mine (will sell if interested)

It's just a Special, so doesn't have the quilt top. The X's certainly look better. As much as I like the looks of yours, I need to stick to my plans to buy my first Les Paul. Thanks, tho

BTW, are Mockingbirds neck-heavy? My first guitar was a Bronze Warlock, and I couldn't play it without the body straddling my right thigh because it was so out of balance. Mockingbirds don't have a cut to make that work.

I have an NJ Classic Series Mockingbird from Korea (2007) Neck Through.........Electronics were cheap so I replaced it all.......Had the frets dressed and full set up.......Very nice axe........Yes the neck is wide and it's neck heavy......Change the position of the rear strap post and your good to go....
