People and opinions eh?
Everything cool with you? Finally reloaded PT's and got my Digi 03 rack going again. Recorded some stuff yesterday but having a hell of a time EQ'ing some clarity into it and getting rid of the "muffled" dead room thing, for a lack of a better term. Your recordings always sound great for a mic'd speaker cab. I recorded 2 cabs on 3 tracks and experimented with a few things but still am not getting it right. I guess there is not a question in here as I know that it takes a lot of tweaking to find the sweet spots.....ugh!!! using an SM57, an e906 and a 421 senheiser for mics.
I have one of those Miracle Man pick-ups from Bare Knuckles. Still in the box though. They are supposed to be the hottest of the humbuckers in their line up. I may pop it in a Les Paul and give it a go. Most every guitar I play now though has EMG's.

But, yea, if you want a really big low end, warpigs are the pickups for you. As of being a match with the Herbert, they are great, but I'd take the Nailbombs over them 90% of the time.
I have always found the tone knob to be not very useful. Not once have I ever gotten a good tone out of adjusting it in any way besides all the way up. Volume on the other hand I do use in many ways instead of adjusting gain and sometimes treble depending on the pickup.nbarts":d6d1viz7 said:As hot as many BKPs are, they still sound a lot less compressed than tons of pickups I've tried that had a LOT less output. I wouldn't worry about how hot the pickup is, especially if I were running it through the PCP, which I think you do. You can make them as hot as you like. BTW, I use volume & tone knobs on my guitars a lot, I know most of the people just like to set them on 100% & roll, but they miss out on a lot many of these puckups can do with that approach IMO.
