Great tone!

Ill try my SV with alnico pigs later on again.

I'm thinking that maybe that recording isn't doing the warpigs justice, they have a HUGE amount of bottom end (mind you I'm listening through crappy headphones too  )

I'd have thought that Warpigs and a Herbert are made for each other.

Well, I wasn't going for a big low end & then I never am, that's not what interests me in Diezels, their awesome midrange is what gets my attention. But, yea, if you want a really big low end, warpigs are the pickups for you. As of being a match with the Herbert, they are great, but I'd take the Nailbombs over them 90% of the time.

Sounds awesome as usual ...... bit more bass ?

Thank You, Sir! I'll put a note on my desk. :)

People and opinions eh?

Everything cool with you? Finally reloaded PT's and got my Digi 03 rack going again. Recorded some stuff yesterday but having a hell of a time EQ'ing some clarity into it and getting rid of the "muffled" dead room thing, for a lack of a better term. Your recordings always sound great for a mic'd speaker cab. I recorded 2 cabs on 3 tracks and experimented with a few things but still am not getting it right. I guess there is not a question in here as I know that it takes a lot of tweaking to find the sweet spots.....ugh!!! using an SM57, an e906 and a 421 senheiser for mics.

I have one of those Miracle Man pick-ups from Bare Knuckles. Still in the box though. They are supposed to be the hottest of the humbuckers in their line up. I may pop it in a Les Paul and give it a go. Most every guitar I play now though has EMG's.

Im not 100% sure but the Miracle Mans are'nt even close to being the hottest pickup BKP makes. I wanna say its the Warpig, then maybe the Nailbomb with the Painkiller right up there also. I could be wrong though. I just got a Nailbomb for my Les Paul, cant wait to get it in their.

well... they're not
but they do sound pretty good in a les paul

Normal AlnicoV Warpig or Ceramic?

I own a cold sweat AlnicoV neck and a miracle man ceramic bridge.
The Miracle man only defect is on clean like many other ceramic PU,
not so terrible like clean but warpig i think is warmer.
Miracle man is a bit too much specialized.

My nailbombs & warpigs are ceramic. I have no problem getting a great clean tone out of ceramic nailbombs, they sound especially good coil tapped.

Fair point :) I've never tried dialling out the lows on 'pigs, they are the pup I reach for when I want to get that low end presence. I've probably missed my opportunity now as well as Sue is selling our 'pigged guitar.

+1 on the Nailbombs, my personal favourite, they work brilliantly with a VH4 too.

Steve, Miracle Man isn't the hottest by the numbers, but it's up there with them, and in terms of sound their mid range presence probably makes up the difference in actual output. Drop 'em in an axe and try 'em out, I'd be very interested in hearing your opinion of them.

BTW, Steve, here are a couple of my first Uberschall recordings

Embarrassing

Honestly, probably the most important factor when miking amps is your monitoring. I still suck, most of it due to my monitoring & space situation.

As hot as many BKPs are, they still sound a lot less compressed than tons of pickups I've tried that had a LOT less output. I wouldn't worry about how hot the pickup is, especially if I were running it through the PCP, which I think you do. You can make them as hot as you like. BTW, I use volume & tone knobs on my guitars a lot, I know most of the people just like to set them on 100% & roll, but they miss out on a lot many of these puckups can do with that approach IMO.

I have always found the tone knob to be not very useful. Not once have I ever gotten a good tone out of adjusting it in any way besides all the way up. Volume on the other hand I do use in many ways instead of adjusting gain and sometimes treble depending on the pickup.

OK OK - - I stand corrected on the MM pick up! I thought at the time I ordered it that it was. Sticking with my EMG's anyway. Got them in almost every guitar I am currently playing, except for my Silverburst.

Steve

Man, try an EMG81 in LP neck into your Uberschall. That combo dialed right sounds like hell.
