Hey guys, I think I might wanna change my bridge pickups in my PRS's, as mentioned in previous posts, since channel 1 on my Diezel VH4 never stays clean, it always distorts, and its because of the pickups.
I was reading about bareknuckle pickups and wanted to know which ones I should get so my tone still sounds natural, but when playing channel 3 I get solid palm muting with no breaking apart, and yet when playing channel 1, I can get crystal clear cleans, even when strumming a chord as well. Also to keep in mind, I would need bareknuckle pickups with preferably lower output (k) so distortion will be reduced.
Thanks

Email Tim at Bareknuckle pickups and ask him direct, he always replies and his advice is 'sound'. BKPs have the same great customer that Diezel has.

I have a custom Riff Raff with a thicker magnet (4mm) in my PRS McCarty
it was a huge improvement over the stock McCarty Treble pickup (that isn't bad at all)

I had the riff raff in a Les Paul a couple of months ago. I liked it alot!

Thanks a lot guys for all the help. I emailed Tim as well and Im waiting for a reply.Ill let you know what he thinks as well

Mules are the best allrounders, they are low output, too and can do great cleans but also Metal.

Probably Mules. They are vintage output, but stay big, tight and percussive under high gain. You can always go for something like an Emerald, great pickup...it's just quite a bit hotter. You can even consider something like a Emerald, and install a push/pull pot for series/parallel. In parallel mode it will be much cleaner and brighter, something we do custom in a lot of our installs at the shop.

Cannot really provide you an answer, but Im using 8-string Black Dogs (neck and bridge) in one of my guitars and I am very happy with them. Nice cleans, clear and bitting distortion, screaming leads. They seem to have strong pronounciation on the high-middle and treble frequencies. No mud at all with lower tunings.

Maybe you should contact Tim from BKP. As he seems to be extrmely nice person and very customer-oriented, Im sure he will be glad to help you.

Let me know how this turns out. Because I have the same interest in finding a new pickup. I hate how Channel 1 is so picky about distorting.
