BE100 issue or normal operation

I'm playing an older two input model from the earlier days and had just some trouble with the grid resistors and tube failure so I'm a bit sensitive and a hypochondriac at the moment :)
Is it normal that the mod switches (C45/Sat/Fat) cause a noticeable pop when switching them on?

Which tubes Do you prefer? Tending to JJs or TAD B-STRs
 
Tad el34 BSTR is what we use now very reliable.
