Hello,

I recently bought a Bogner 101 B and had some General Questions....Maybe you guys can help me out.

1. Does the red/blue channel sound good with a boost pedal? I know there is already a boost option on the Bogner pedal, but anyone use a KLON, SD-1 etc..to boost the signal?

2. Solo volume boost-If I am playing in either the blue or red channel, will the boost on the footswitch increase the volume as well? I am looking for a way to increase volume while soloing.

Thanks!

1: Sure, depends on what you're going for.

2: You need a boost in the loop to increase volume, or you can just use the red channel as your lead channel. If you use a boost in front of the amp you are just adding gain, unless it's the clean channel. Which is why the clean channel sounds louder if you use the boost.

1. As for the Blue, it takes pedals quite well. A friend of mine uses Fulltone OCD pedal and Xotic BB Preamp. As for the Red, pushing it with any pedal would increase compression insanely, so I wouldn't recommend that :).

2. I use Seymour Duncan SFX-1 "Pickup Booster" in the loop as a clean boost for solos. And it works great. It increases signal only, without adding any distortion. CAE/MXR MC-401 Boost / Line Driver could be another option here.

Regards, Andy :)

Recently started running an OD in front of mine and agree with the others. Sounds great on the blue, maybe use sparingly or never on red. I run the amp's blue gain pretty low and with the OD added in front, could almost live on the blue channel alone. Amp boost and OD pedal off for clean-ish, amp boost on for crunch, and add OD for the push over the cliff (slightly different than red).

I also run a Boss EQ in the loop. Very slight frown curve and nudge on the volume slider makes for a great solo boost.

And no need for a Klon. That's just a silly stomp.
