Do you guys think a Splawn Nitro would hit this? Quick Rod seems to lack saturation. Is seems DeMartini.. Lynch... use Plexis but they are modded so what comes close?
Well, Lynch himself used just about every freaking amp out there at one point. He usually did always record with an old PLexi though. I think the main thing would be to use either Greenbacks or H30's in a speaker cabinet. A Mesa Boogie Mark III will do a Lynch tone as long as it's on Greenbacks. I would think a Quick Rod would have plenty of gain though
I know he used the SLO alot but when I hear it.. or rather play it... it has this like hollow tone. Can't explain. Maybe needs to be boosted because not getting enough volume. With pre turned up it gets fuzzy. Isn't the 5105 based on the SLO?

He didn't use an SLO all that much. In fact I think he only used it on one of his records, and that was only on specific lead parts. For the most part, the best way to get a "Lynch Tone" is to crank up an old Super Lead through some Greenbacks or G12H-30's and boost it. Even when he did use other amps, he almost always fell back to that. But since that isn't very conducive to hearing or playing in clubs, the next best thing you can do is what danyeo suggested and tweak a Mesa Mk series amp. IMHO.
I agree with Danyeo. I can get some great Lynch tone out of my Mark III and IV. I asked George a few months ago why he didnt use the Mark series amps...since they contain his tone in spades. He smiled and then tried to push the Randall Lynch box amps...
