Hello All;

I just wanted to say (since I know Peter frequents this forum) that although I no longer own either of my Diezel amps (Einstein and then a Herbert), I found the customer service I received from both Peter and those at Diezel as well as Uwe here in California second to none. I have owned more boutique amps than I care to remember, and you guys were the best. I wish any of the other guys cared half as much and put their customers first like you guys do.

Absolutely in a class by yourselves. #1 in my book.

Best of luck Peter.

Didn't care much for the Herbert :scared: (sorry, I know this is flaming material here), but I loved the Einstein; sold the Einstein to get the Herbert, may buy another Einstein someday.

what happened to your Diezels? :gethim:

hehe, nah, don't worry man it's ok to not like a Diezel hehehe

by the way, what did you like more about the Einstein? (you gotta be one of the few people that I've heard prefer the Einstein over the Herbert)

not because the Einstein is less, but it seems like a lot of people think is the Herbert is THE Diezel to own.... (ALL THREE RULE!) :D

I found the Einstein to be a little more organic, a little more forgiving-maybe just better tone, although definitely Diezel. The Herbert seemed cold/hard/stiff to me, almost like I was playing something that was mechanical for lack of a better word. I loved the ergonomics of the Herbert, one of the best designs, hell THE best design I have ever played, but sound-wise, it left me cold. I wanted to like it so much, but it didn't work for me. Too metal? Maybe that's the way for me to describe it. Maybe I was just too much of a retard to get it dialed in right. I think I was expecting the Herbert to just be the Einstein with more features, but it wasn't. Sigh.

I still want another Einstein though.

Thank You very much, Sir !!!!!!!!
I enjoy Your words

i play alot on both einstien and herbert and i have almost identical sounds on both BUT they are eq way different, its funny you found einstien more forgiving cuz for me its the opposite, herbert is way easier to play for me. I love em both though, no doubt!

I don't know Andy, I suppose it is just one of those individual things based on what my ears hear. I know that it seemed as though my Les Pauls sounded better on the Einstein than the Herbert, and the Einstein, at least to me, seemed a little spongier. I liked the Herbert, but due to finances, I am a one amp guy, so I had to find something (for me anyway) that covered the bases. If I could keep my current amp (Bogner Ecstasy-yes, let the arrows fly), and get a Herbert for my heavier sounds, I definitely would. Or maybe another Einstein. Too many deirabe amps, too little expendable money. One of these days though.

We all love Bogners here, well I know Andy and I do. Between the Herbert and XTC there's almost nothing you can't cover. And yes Peter offers outstanding service. It always piece of mind know he's never far away if you need anything.

these are the types of "lead" tones im after and yes the sponginess of the einstien that you found was just a touch of a loss of note definition at faster playing that herbert still had especially with quick alternate picking. dont get me wrong i own and love both for completly different reasons but when it comes to my anderson guitars and leads i just prefer the herbie BUT for vintage marshall kinda tones i go to einstien. they both kick ass! :D

Exactly. I generally prefer a more "vintage vibe", which is why I prefer the Einstein. However, like you said, when I am playing more "metal/shredder" stuff, the Herbert has a faster, more defined character to it, and to me, that's where it shines.

They do both kick major ass.

BTW, good luck with your movie role Andy.

thanks brotha! i just sent the clip for the intro and it is gonna be pretty cool indeed! i love both amps and surprisingly i can get some scary close tones to each other on both of the amps. I just dont see how people say einstein is not capable of modern tones and herbert isnt capable of vintage tones, i think both amps have more than enough versatility to get a good player through any situation.
