Anyone found the best module for most Led Zep, Rush and other classic hard rock tones? I can dial them up with the EG5 with the right guitar settings and am getting an SL2.....but thikn for this an SL may be the ticket.

I'm thinkin' yer thinkin' is right! SL for the lower gain stuff and SL2 for the higher gain stuff. Or put a stompbox in front of the SL.

I got very nice mild overdrive sounds on SL2 Channel A. It sounded great with single coils and humbuckers.

I think you get the best of both worlds with the SL2. Although I have not tried the SL.

You can get most of the sound you are looking for with the SL module, but probably not all of it. I'd suggest the SL2 which could dial in just about everything you are looking for.

I dig the SL for classic rock tones... typically I use the "A" channel for chord-based stuff (AC/DC) and the "B" channel for single-note riffs (Zep).

I hear ya John but I tend to like modules that will also get higher gain stuff so I am thinking the SL2 and eventually the SL will be best.

I remember I got great tones on the crunch channel for Led Zep and AC/DC with my H&K switchblade. That was the only thing I liked though.

I can also get very old LZ and AC/DC on channel B of the B,mann.

I'm loving the SL for this very thing. I can get the hotter type marshall crunch (800) in various levels of gain on Channel B, but get that nice open Plexi type tone on Channel A. Add a pedal and you can do the almost real clean (depending on pickups) to hard rock Marshall style. SL2 just takes it from there. Two just killer modules.

You can really get that Billy Squire, Foreigner, Early Rush, Seger, Heart, Hendrix, AC/DC etc. type tones on Channel A. I'd also definitely say variations of Page on both Channel A and B.

I'm really glad I picked up the SL.
