How would you place the cabs in a room like my?

5x9 meters

I'd stuff it in the corner by the couch and computer desk.

Seriously though. I'd probably keep them where they are now. Or if I needed more room to spread them out I'd swap them with the couch.

I’d probably try an arrangement that allows me to hear reflected sound and not speakers pointed straight at me. I always stand to the side of my cabs but my room is much smaller than that.

Definitely going for sound rather than good on eyes. I’ve ordered some diffusers also. Want the best sound possible

Unless you are hearing something that you don't like, that is where I would put them.

Only thing you can do is move them around the room and listen.

It's interesting how different it can sound just moving them a few feet.

A lot of people prefer reflected or off center sound.

I do all my dialing standing or sitting directly in front of the cab. Then move around to fine tune the sound.

In all seriousness, I think any acoustician would tell you to start right where you did…with the sound pointed towards the length of the room. Then adding more bass traps.

New picture from today. Also looked at diffusers. What do they do?

I’d put a cab on either side of the stereo, facing the couch. That placement will allow you to set your guitar to sound pretty well-integrated with with whatever music you’re listening to.

I’d also recommend putting those amps on a switcher. You’d be shocked how much easier it makes everything.

Why not a detuned 1x12 LP spec for the hi-fi ethereal vibe, maybe stereo, with an amp with focus/damping/resonance/negative feedback control to control dampening/tightness? That room screams mood lighting and sonic landscape painting.
