Best powered cab or power and cab to run with Torpedo Live?

I’ve been using the Two Notes Torpedo Live a fair bit and my rig is such that I like to have a powered monitor to simulate an amp and to then go through to the PA.
I have been using my Atomic wedge powered CLR monitor – which sounded great with my Axe FX – and I find it a bit spikey and brittle in the mids and higher mids with all my real amps and the Torpedo Live… The distorted tones seem a bit fizzy... and there's even a little extra fizz at the end of a chord... I have A/B ed the same amps with a real cab and no Torpedo/Atomic… and it doesn’t have that spike.
So all you Torpedo Live users out there, do you have an idea what seems to dovetail best with the Torpedo for the most natural sound, closest to an analog rig?
I'd like to get a smooth distorted tone out of my rig and right now it's just not "there".
Thanks in advance.

I think we used with some success some Line 6 L3m and I my personal favorite is a QSC K12 (or even better, a KW152). I know these are not cheap.

I tried recently a Yamaha active monitor Dbr 10 (for 10"). I heard some strange phase issue in the mid frequencies that somehow disturbed me, but low range is quite good for a monitor that size, and it's good for the price.

Success!!! Here's my letter to Andy Cherna... hopefully helpful to some of you good folks...
"Hey Andy,
I’ll post this on the Forum, but I’d like to say that I’m NOW very happy with the sounds from the Torpedo Live… I went from a thin, brittle, fizzy tone to a monster fat but balanced tone…
I followed your suggestion and used the Green Jubilee cab… I turned OFF the EQ as recommended.
Then I went through the mics and ended up with the Blue Dragonfly (Knightfall) instead of the SM57 – much warmer and fatter and sweeter.
I moved the mic to 10% distance – but probably a subtle effect.
Already a big sound … but here’s the thing… my Atomic CLR wedge powered monitor got A/B-ed with a QSC K10 that I had on hand… and the QSC was way punchier and balanced sounding (I was surprised!). The Atomic – which worked so well with my Axe FX - sounded spikey and brittle when compared to the K10. So I’ll be using a K10 with the Torpedo from now on…
Thanks for the help…
Hugh H."

PS: I did try the K12 and loved it - a little more open than the K10 - but the K10 was a littel "tighter" and his I like a lot. Thanks to Two Notes boys in France for the QSC suggestion!!!

The QSC is indeed Andy's idea, and it worked very well both on guitar and bass.

It's important to find an active monitor that doesn't kill the medium, because most boom boom DJ monitors do that... :(

my understated and diplomatic way to say this was "I would also check the atomic by running some music through it. I am not super familiar with the unit but if it has some adjustments, setting it so that music sounds best through it will be also the best setting for use with a Torpedo." ;) ;)
