Looking for one. Strymon El Capistan? Empress Super delay? Suggestions….

Would like a remote tap tempo jack so I can have a single switch on my pedal board.

they're both solid delay pedals, i've had the el capistan for a while, one of my favourite sounding tape delays for sure

neither of them have a remote tap tempo jack however.. , there aren't too many delay pedals and more specifically tape echo style that offer this, usually it's a tap tempo button on the enclosure itself

the strymon timeline could be an option? can set tempo through a TRS cable, or midi..
eventide timefactor too i guess

//

or the DLS EchoTap can take an external tap tempo , not sure how it sounds tho

The DD20 would work great for a fraction of a cost of the others.

I think i am leaning towards the Strymon. Just checked out their vids and might add a Timeline since I can control it with the GT Mastermind midi and it has a looper.

This might cause a gear sell off

Damn! I just bought a Gibson oberhiem Echoplex... Maybe I should have gone with a time line? Guess I could relist it on evil bay. Didnt realize the time line was controlled by midi and has a looper.

Don't forget about this relatively new offering from Empress:

This pedal comes in at a much more attractive price point than the Superdelay. In addition, if the pedal will be in a rack tray, the Superdelay would be a colossal waste of your money, because you won't be able to cycle through any presets using midi or a relay switcher (e.g., GCX, Patchmate, RJM, etc.).

Oh, and btw, forum member Casey Hanson (username is now "Fallout-Labs") could mod this pedal to have an external tap tempo jack, if you need that functionality.

Just went through this myself. After looking at every option out there I still went with the timeline. it has everything. All others were missing a feature. Cut to the chase and get one.

I got mine for crazy cheap in a package deal off of TGP. Sold the other stuff and wound up getting the timeline for $250.

Damn that was a good deal. Most Strymon pedals are reselling for $25-$50 less. Id just get a new one.

I like the Strymon Time Line - Flint- Compressor- Mobeus and El capistan   Break out the Credit card  Think I will list some stuff on evil bay

I checked that out. I like it also but just drawn to the El Cap I can do midi tap with the Time Line and GT Mastermind along with looper.

I got a good deal (Sniped) on a Gibson EchoPlex, I will try it out when it gets here and maybe realist it. they are going for about 300 more than what I paid and this one is mint with the added memory chip upgrade.
