Best Way To Buy an Axe II?

If I decide to take the plunge, what's the best way to buy an Axe II? When they came out, there was a coupon fiasco, a waiting list fiasco and other assorted drama associated with them. Is there a way to save money on a new one at this point? Order from Fractal? Order from Tone Merchants? What's the best approach?

I would be willing to pick-up a used one, but I thought that I read the warranties were not transferrable. Is that accurate?

Thanks in advance...

Just go to the Fractal store and order it. Simple.

PS: And if you're closer to the left coast, talk to Rob at Tone Merchants and order one through him.

Go directly to the FAS store, armed with CC, hit BUY, and it'll show up in the mail before you know it!

Maybe tack on an MFC101 while you're at it, I think there's a discount when buying both

The MFC101 is tempting and I like the idea of a more "plug & play" solution. As it stands, if I buy the Axe II I would be substituting it into my current live rig (in place of an Eleven Rack) and that rig has a nearly new GC Pro / GCX combination that controls other devices. Still very tempting, though...

Best way to buy an Axe II? Wait until they announce the Axe III and buy a used one when the liquidation starts.

One thing for sure, an Axe FX of any model has held its value better than any amp ever has. Go to the Fractal site and order one direct. No lines, no coupons, no wait, usually.

Any amp ever? Some IIC+ owners may beg to differ.

Yeah sorry Steve but disagree, Ultra that cost $2100 or more selling for $1100 so about half of new. I don't think you can find a top shelf amp for half of new used, ex. VH4 Diezel, Bogner XTC 20th (which I got a greta deal from you on but not half of what it cost new), Friedman etc etc.

Stevie. That's the Kool-Aid talking Bro, but we won't hold it against ya...

That said, for a piece of digital gear, it holds up better than the rest of the digital stuff.

Not that it matters... I buy stuff because I want it - not for the resale value. :D I don't buy as much as some of you guys, but in the last 25 years, I've sold 3 peices of gear and kept everything else. You never know when nostalgia will strike

Now Steve, you do know what a IIC+ cost when it came out and what they go for now. They do sell for 3 times, or more, than their original price. Can you really see yourself buying an Axe-2 25 years from now for $7,000?

New Ultras were $1,800, so Steve is not wrong with resale. The thing is discontinued
for two years now and they still sell for over 2/3 of the new price used!

They are great units. Tube amps are great too. I had both and they coexisted peacefully.

I have 2 left.....$2199 free shipping. I can ship it tomorrow :)
