Bias and tube question

Hi,

I've just gotten a 2001 VH4 and I have a couple of questions.

I just biased it. Man, the 6L6GC were drawing 60 mA per tube. I've biased them down to about 35-40 mA. Doesn't that seem fine?

What the pot all the way to left inside the amp for? The one beside the output tranny?

Also my tubes are getting very hot! Are they done? The back of the amp is getting very hot because of the tubes.

Cool amp, I'm liking it!

The pot is the hum trimmer. Adjust it to taste by ear.

35mA per 6L6 should be fine. How did you read the current, are you sure that you are reading single tubes?

I use a Bias Master from TAD. It measures each tube.
