When you Bias the MOD50 do you need to have the speaker cab plugged into the head? I remember having to do that when biasing my Marshall. I know that the MOD50 is so much easier, but not sure about the speaker being connected and there's nothing stated in the manual, just being careful.

Thanks again....you guys must hate all these newbie questions....lol

Anytime you have the amp on, you need a load connected to it. That's biasing, playing it, amp on standby...etc....regardless of amp brand :). When you do bias it, turn the master volume all the way down on the amp.

You dont need a speaker necessarily, but you DO need some sort of load or you risk blowing the tranny. Use high power mode too.

Thank you....I thought that was the case but since it wasn't in the manual I didn't know if the eggies were different.

Thank you

Technically you don't need a load connected because the speaker jacks have protection built in. It is probably a good idea though so you don't forget to connect the speaker after you are done adjusting. Do set the standby switch to HIGH POWER and turn the main master all the way down.

Damn I didnt realize how that response actually reads! I dont know what I was thinking having "load", "blow", and "tranny" in the same sentence!
