I might trade my Mod50 for an OD100. I really want an se+ but if the standard will get me close I'll go with that. Is there a big tonal difference?

A lot less gain...

You can always have the amp converted to SE specs... although the PT is my favorite

Cool. You just answered my next question. So I can send it to Suhr and get it upgraded?

Yes you can. I bought a standard in 2006 and had it converted to SE+ and then to a PT100. I love the SE+ and hope to get a Marshall modded in the future.

I have one on the way to Suhr. I don't know if I want se+ or PT100 yet. Which one did you like better?

If you like the familiarity of a great sounding Marshallish voicing, go for the PT. It can get aggressive if you want it to. If you want a smooth singing solo/lead guitar sound then the SE+

PT= higher mid (sits perfect in the mix)
SE+= lower mid

listen to the videos on Youtube....(both sound great) they will give you a general idea of the voicing. I have had both and when I got the SE+ I thought it was END GAME... until I played the PT... now it has been END GAME for over 1.5 years... no amp gas other then maybe wanting to maybe get into building one, but that always gets put on the back burner...

Good luck

I would go with the PT100. Since some believe the Riot sounds like the SE+, buy a Riot in addition to the PT100.
