I don't see any magic formula there. Just your typical turn it all up on an old Plexi.

He's got it jumpered he's using Vol. II. It's all going to depend on the cab/speakers he's running it with, too.

I'm guessing this is one of those scenarios where you could plug into Billy's actual rig and sound nothing like him at all.

One of those rig run downs had him using Marshall JMP1(?) preamp, gain all the way up, set of 7's on hyis guitar

Billy Gibbons is the only one that outshines EVH as far as mis-information regarding rigs. I love the Rev, but I'd be wary of anything that comes out of his mouth.

Love his early tones and some more recent ones. Eliminator era, not so much.

Really? I think his tones on Eliminator are fantastic. The synth sounds?...Not so much!

The tones were typical Rockman type sounds of the era mixed in with some amp tones. I liked the tone on 'Need You Tonight'. Nothing wrong with the sounds on that and the albums that followed, they were just my least favorite BG tones when looking at the full catalog.

When I saw them back in 02 he was using a Marshall Valvestate head.
