Whats the consensus on these guys? I'm looking to get a cheap tube combo for smaller shows and the HT60 seems pretty cool, I liked what I heard on their site. Probably built in korea? Quality stuff or no?

DOn't know about the 60, but the HT-5 is a fucking badass little amp. I wouldn't mind one at some point.

+1 the HT-5 rules, had it for quite a while now, perfect through a 2x12 cab at home, and more recently as a power section for an axe fx just for low volume practice =)

not sure about the higher wattage combos, heard good things about them tho

I was thinking about a peavey classic, but these caught my eye, seem to have a lot of different tones in there based on their site. Those 5 watters seem built sturdy enough?

One of the other guitar players in my church has the HT-5 and it rips through a 4x12. Great Marshall type tone.

the ht-5 are great portable amps sturdy built too, the only downside is maybe the shared EQ, depending on how you like the EQ of your clean/gain channels, but you can certainly find a good compromise, the emulated out is a great feature too (no cab/load needed to use it either)

the newer model has built in reverb too and more gain on tap, i have the older version but really dig it definitely worth checking out if you get the chance, sounds righteous with an EQ in the loop

I've had my HT-5 for a couple of years and love it. It's the perfect practice amp for anyone into rock/metal and can be used for home recording, etc. Good piece of kit.

I played the HT 40 and it sounded really good. Try one out. They are everywhere. I also had an H-5 which was pretty cool.

Yeah I might have to swing by a guitar center to scope one out... haven't been to one in a few years lol.

I saw Gus G with Ozzy and his tones were fantastic. Both I and my son who' a metal drummer were going "wow!"
Just Blackstar Series One 200 heads and a BBE Screamer

I have an HT60 and it is a great amp. The previous owner upgraded the speakers and from what I understand it makes a fairly significant difference. Great cleans, great overdrive, great high gain. Very versatile and flexible. Seems to be built pretty well from what I can tell. Definitely work checking out.

HT-5 blew my mind at how good an affordable amp could sound. not perfect, but certainly friggen awesome and recorded really well tooo

I have a ht-100 head and after a good set of Tung Sol's in the preamp and some good el34's I LOVE this thing! I keep wanting to find something "boutique" to replace it but in the year I have had it I can't find anything I like as well. The HT-60 is the same preamp circuit and is very, very flexible. Very tight and articulate, great clean channel and built well. It's a very modded Marshall kind of sound but can do other things well too. Stupid good tones for the cost. When I first played one I didn't see the price tag and was sure it would be expensive due to the tone but it's dirt cheap.

Anyone compare the ht60 to the ht40 combo's? I'm assuming the tone is probably similar, I like the feature set a little better on the 60, but I'm not sure I could fit the 2x12 in my mustang's trunk. I'm getting to mush shit from my wife about using her car for shows lol, it's why I'm downsizing my rig.

close but not the same, the 60 has a third channel and a more flexible clean channel.

Yeah I was just checking out the site, they have a 60watt 1x12 but it doesn't have that 3rd channel. Seems like the 2x12 can do a solid clean, marshally crunch and high gain fluid lead. Wish they had that in a 1x12, would be perfect for me.

I think if you're going the Blackstar route, go with a Series One, they're awesome.

I came pretty close to buying an HT-100, but ended up getting a Jet City because it felt a lot more 'real' than the HT, and I didn't find the HT to be as versetile as it was advertised to be, one of the OD channels was really good, the other I really didn't like and the clean has no gain control.

I have yet to play the series one but I find both gain channels on the ht 100 to be very, very useable. The HT's are tight as hell and I know some guys don't like the fact that there is a bit of diode clipping going on but to my ears it is perfect. I remember when you were debating the two I thought you would go with the Jet City and I was correct. It is rare that someone that loves the feel of the Jet City loves the Blackstar stuff too. other than killer bang for the buck they have nothing in common feel or tone wise.

I tried a HT100. I was not impressed. It had quite a bit of gain, but sounded kind f like a solid state amp to me. There are many options I would go with over these.
