Hey all,

I've run a number of Google searches for Bogner 4x12 cabs, and I've usually come up with threads (here, The Gear Page, and others) comparing them to other brand 4x12 cabs... but nothing much about their history.

Regarding the original (pre-Uberkab) Bogner 4x12s, what year were those first built? Were there a number of revisions over the years, and did they come in a color other than wheat (for ex: black)? Are they all rear-loaded with Vintage 30's?

Regarding Uberkabs, which year were those built and when was the design switched from rear to front loaded? Is it safe to say all Uberkabs from Bogner were designed for Vintage 30's & G12T-75's in an X-pattern?

There's also a variant of a 412ST cab with gold piping (posted at the bottom of this thread) that I've never seen before... which I'd love to own. I'm assuming Bogner also designed custom cabs for their customers?

Thanks,
Nick

These guys made the cabinets for Bogner, Cameron, and at some point Diezel. I'm not sure if they still make cabs for Bogner? But at one point you could order the exact same thing as an empty Bogner from this stite a few years ago. Just look at the Euro 2x12.

What's the relationship between V-Boutique and Marvics?

Not 100% sure, and no clue on dates, but...

Original Uberkab was no different than standard cab. Just different color grill and different speakers. No difference otherwise.

At some point, they went rear-loaded I think?

And then they started using those little cards on the back to label the cabs. And at that point, you could get the with different speakers. The first Bogner cab I got came loaded with Greenbacks from the factory.

Then they switched to the new tolex style.

That's it really. Nothing mysterious.

They do make great cabs. I just put a slant on hold at an OKlahoma GC, 449. Mint condition. My Rivera cab is built with the same design I believe, GC has an A and B cab for less than 500. V30s.

I was also led to believe that boutique amps outfit made all of Bogner's cabs. What I don't like about them is that they have no corner protectors. For that reason, I don't think I'll ever take my Uberkab anywhere. Too afraid of bumping it into something especially with the funky comet tolex.
