Just got an Alchemist Combo(used)...love the sounds. However, strange things happen when using footswitch. Lights flashing, channels changing by themselves etc... general misbehavior that eventually goes away. does anyone have similar problems, solutions. also on gold channel the crunch does not always show up, but after playing for a while it seems to work. i want this to be the last amp i own and willing to do what it takes...help please

It may be as straightforward as cleaning the (footswitch-cable) contacts
on the jack-plug;the contacts exposed to the outside air.
Also, the socket for this on the amp.
Then, the switch itself: Contact-cleaner down the side of the button.
Tried this? (all with NO POWER;allow solvents to evaporate.Give it 5 mins)
Fingers crossed, Regards David.

Thanks David,

Im new at this so forgive me for being clueless.
what kind of cleaner should i use.
do i need to take apart anything or just rub them down,

use all the help i can get

cheers!

Hi,just start with all the exposed contact surfaces;no dismantling (yet!).
Aerosol-can spray,such as 'Servisol'
(WD40 will leave a residue that'll need removed again),or other greaseless types are good.
Non-spray alcohol directly applied to said contacts(with cotton-buds) is another, initial, route.
If these easy-ish starters don't do succeed,
the folk @ Bogner will be able to give direction (even with out-of-production gear).
Again, leave all power unconnected, give a few mins for any traces to evaporate.
Regards,David.

Hey anyone know about squeal that happens after the amp warms up in the verb and delay circuit? I've tried replacing my v4 tube but didn't help
