I hear the shiva kt88 is more aggressive than the el34? any close comparison between this two ? tight ? clean gain distortion?

A shiva with KT88's sounds interesting. I didn't know bogner offered this option. I might be a perfect amp now that you mention it.

The preamp of the shiva is silky and not very aggressive compared to the uberschall. The kt88 and higher plate voltage will give the amp more piss and vinegar. Will also make the clean channel have lots more headroom and sound bigger all around.

The mid voicing on the shiva is hit or miss with me. Some days I love it and some days it sounds like a jcm 900 to my ears. It can get piercing.

el34's are technically Pentodes and the 6l6/Kt88 family are as beam power tertode.

wiki the differences, it will explain a lot.

yeah from what I heard obtained off from the net the tone seems more aggressive than the loaded version el34..the kt88 sounded more edgy more bite and upper highs..the el34 is more smooth rather ..

the shiva sounded more raw buti still dont know how much diff it sounded compare to the tj.. would I get the shiva distorted tones out from the tj ?

I guess since then alot are flattering the tj over the old uber?

could you please eleborate more on even order harmonic?
sorry but I just wanna get learny of did you mean the sweet spot when the amp is at its best when driving off at certain settings ?
