Took delivery of a Bogner Goldfinger 90 earlier this week. Did some tracking with it last night. The track is unmixed, lacking bass guitar, and the arrangement is chopped up. There is (a little too much) compression on the stereo buss. Anyway, here are the results...

Sweet...

The Goldfinger is my fav new Bogner. Awesome amp  great trax

I hear these GF clips every so often and it makes me run to the store and demo them again. But in the end, I just get more from my 20th Sheeves.

These are great tracks you recorded. Heavier then most other GF recordings. Im assuming nothing in front? ( or in the loop)

Nothing in front or in the loop. Omega channel, boost engaged. Both 69 and 80 modes. Cabinet is the Bogner 2x12 with V30's, mic'ed with an SM57. No EQ or post processing.

Pretty righteous for straight outta the box  :2thumbsup:

Nicely played!! Damn it... Here we go again.

Where was the gain and volume sitting?

Agreed thats a helluva nice tone for out of the box

Very nice. Had a GF 45 and it was my fav Bogner I've ever owned after owning several Shiva's and XTC's

Clips sound nice! Usually I find That although bogners sound great and are fun to play alone, they always tend to sound too creamy or smooth toned and lacking the crisp highs of say a good Marshall. Your gold finger sounded nice though, I would like to give the 90 a try.

Why a "had" and not a "have" then? Where'd yer amp go? Was this part of the Fractal purge? Just wondering...

Bogners definitely have their own thing going on... and each of their amps takes some time to get used to and learn. Once you get past that, they are great sounding amps. I'm quite pleased the GF so far and my XTC is not going anywhere either.

Thanks. I don't really spend much time fussing with the amp. I get a decent sound and throw a mic up on it.

The gain was set between 1:00 and 2:00, and the volume between noon and 2:00. Lower gain and higher volume for the "80" mode. Higher gain, lower volume for the "69" mode.

If I remember correctly, the picture above is pretty close to the settings I used. I tracked 4 different tones, and doubled each (8 tracks)... then I ending up using 2 of them (4 tracks total- 2x "69" and 2x "80") for the rhythms. That's all you're hearing aside from some ambient guitar tracks in the chorus and the lead guitar track.

I liked the 45, but I'm glad I got the 90. I think it suits me better. Why did you sell your 45?

Yeah my wife at the time had a job where she worked out of our house so my playing a loud amp was very very limited so I sold it to get an AxeFX. When she changed jobs and started working outside our home I decided to give a Friedman a go since it was the sim I liked the most on the AxeFX and LP Freak's came up came up before I located another GF. I've been happy with the Friedman... more Marshall flavor than the Bogner.

Thanks for that, Ejecta... Was just wondering. So did you dump the snax entirely or are you a Friedman/Fractal kinda guy now?

Peace

At the time I had a Standard and a AxeFX 2. Kept the Standard for FX and sold the AxefX2. This rig is probably the best one I've owned for my tastes. I need to take some pics and post them up.

I had a chance to play my buddy's GF90 next to my EL34 20th Shiva. Very similar, both record well, but the Shiva sounds bigger, so if I could only have once, it would he the Shiva or XTC.
